Moreover, the round liner is often used for these styles of tattoos: Dotwork, all complex outlines, lettering, Japanese, Traditional and Neo-Traditional, Geometric, Tribal, or Samoan.
What needle size for tattooing? Depending on the desired outcome, the 3RL, 5RL, 7RL (Round Liner) are the most commonly used sizes for drawing fine to medium lines. The higher the number, the thicker the line. For example, for 9RL and above, you will get thicker lines.
