Red: Round Liner (RL) - precise lines
Yellow: Round Shader (RS) - soft shading
Blue: Magnum (M1) - effective filling
Green: Magnum curved (RM/CM) - gradients and transitions
The Round Shader has a circular configuration similar to that of the Round Liners. The main difference lies in the needles, which are spaced further apart. This provides exceptional precision for fine shading and subtle gradients.
These needles are particularly well suited to working on small, detailed areas, while adding depth and relief to tattoos. The Round Shader is frequently used for different styles: light strokes, lettering, colour fill and shading, as well as Japanese, Traditional, Neo-Traditional, Tribal or Samoan styles.
What size needle should I choose for tattooing?
The choice depends on the desired effect. Sizes 3RS, 5RS, 7RS and 9RS (Round Shader) are the most common for small areas of shading and precise fills. On the other hand, 11RS and 14RS are more suitable for larger, denser renderings.
